Mexico's presidential plane: In 2012, Mexican government decided to upgrade the presidential plane. Mexico's then-president Felipe Calderón signed a deal with Boeing for a 787-8 Dreamliner plane. President Calderón left office in November 2012. His successor, Enrique Peña Nieto, received this new luxurious presidential jet in 2016. Plane's original cost was around 130 million dollars. An additional amount was spent for the customized fittings. Plane's total cost came around 218 million dollars. This new presidential plane became a hot topic for Mexico's opposition parties.
